Telehealth Appointments
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to reduce the risk to my clients, myself, and our community, I am only offering online sessions via a HIPPA compliant telehealth platform at this time.
It is human nature to seek growth. The path toward growth may become blocked, however, as our past experiences and thoughts often get in the way. Trauma, fear, anxiety, shame, and self- limiting beliefs keep us stuck in old, self-protective patterns that no longer serve us.
Individual psychotherapy starts with exploring what you would want for yourself from doing this work. And it is this desire that guides the work we do together.
As the therapeutic process continues, we explore and identify what gets in the way of what you want for yourself. What gets in the way can be strategies we developed during childhood to navigate family relationships, emotions we shut down because they overwhelmed us, negative beliefs we have about ourselves, or ways we disconnect from intimate connection. These strategies become so much a part of us that we are often unaware of how they actually keep us disconnected with what we most want or desire.
As we become more aware of the strategies and the role they served, we develop confidence in choosing what we want.
This approach to counseling can shift patterns of chronic stress, relieve trauma symptoms, and help you find clarity so you can move forward with a greater connection to yourself and greater capacity for deep, meaningful connections to others.
You will have a confidential, safe environment where you can explore, without judgment, the areas of your life where you feel stuck. You can move beyond anxiety, fear, and pain and into growth.
Common concerns I can assist you with:
I am a NARM Master Therapist and NARM Training Assistant and love being on the Teaching Team for NARM Trainings. I am a NARM Experiential Consult provider for students in Level 2 NARM Therapist Training who are working towards certificate requirements.
I have a private practice specializing in supporting individuals who are experiencing symptoms related to trauma, including relational and developmental trauma. In addition to NARM, I have training in EMDR, Neurofeedback, Hypnosis, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Post Induction Therapy and Trauma Release Exercise. I have also been the Clinical Director at a Therapeutic Boarding School for adolescent females for the past 8 years. I have the opportunity to treat teens and families as well as provide Clinical Supervision utilizing NARM principles.
Some reminders about how to most effectively use these NARM Experiential Consults:
A few other important reminders:
WHAT AN EXPERIENTIAL CONSULT IS…
An Experiential Consult is an educational opportunity for NARM students to gain a deeper, more personal experience of the interventions used in NARM. An Experiential Consult has the intention to support your learning of NARM through experiencing, discussing, and debriefing relevant NARM principles and skills. During an Experiential Consult you can choose to work with your own material or you can role-play a client.
WHAT AN EXPERIENTIAL CONSULT IS NOT….
An Experiential Consult is not therapeutic or a replacement for therapy or personal growth work. While the student may gain new awareness or insights that support their personal development, Experiential Consults are educational. In addition, unlike a therapeutic relationship with a counselor, Experiential Consults are not confidential and material that is brought up during an Experiential Consult may be discussed with the training team for the purpose of supporting your learning and integration of the NARM material that is being taught in Level 1 or Level 2.
I am a certified Clinical Supervisor in the state of Arizona. I provide clinical supervision to Licensed Associate Counselors (LAC) who are master’s level professionals in behavioral health pursuing their clinical licensure. I completed the Arizona State Board of Behavior Health Examiners supervision requirements. All supervision is conducted according to guidelines established by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AAC R4-6-212).
I offer supervisee’s a supportive and clinically focused environment fostering growth, both professionally and personally. I am passionate and dedicated to the success of future mental health clinicians. During supervision, we will explore problem-solving, review of cases, personal biases that get in our way, theory, review of ethics, best practices, state rules and regulations, and how to navigate the application process.
Supervision is offered via Zoom.
